Meet State Sen. Jolie Justus Saturday, April 23rd in Grandview
OK, I know that’s a horribly lame title.
Through this website, I’m partnering with the Hard Bean Café in Grandview to help facilitate an unusual opportunity: the chance for regular people to speak directly to those who represent us over a cup of coffee.
State Senator Jolie Justus, a Democrat who represents Missouri’s 10th Senatorial District, will be in Grandview this Saturday to meet with anyone who wants to talk about any issue.
That’s right – it’s that simple. Just come to the Hard Bean Café this weekend, pull up a chair and speak with your State Senator. There is no agenda involved, there will be no speeches (and, therefore, no political spin) and it does not matter if you are a Democrat, a Republican, a Libertarian or an Independent. If you live in the 10th District (that’s most of Kansas City and all of Grandview), Sen. Justus is one of your representatives in Jefferson City.
This is the first in what I hope will be a series of elected officials, candidates and other decision makers meeting with the public to listen to our concerns. This is a chance to bypass someone’s staff and speak directly with someone who votes on the matters that affect us all.
I want to express my sincere thanks to Sen. Justus for being willing to take part in this. It should be pointed out that she has not ever made anything off limits while we set her visit to Grandview up. Regardless of whether you agree with the Senator on various issues or not, her taking the time and effort to listen to us in person is something we should appreciate and hope more leaders adopt as a habit.

On another topic, I want to express my sincere thanks again to the people of Grandview who recently elected me to the Board of Directors of Jackson County Public Water Supply District #1.
